Base behavior

Effect
Passive: stand still for 3s to gain +24 Armor and Magic Resistance, pause Sustained Heart durations, and grant Area Hearts +30% Area. Moving or taking a hit over 5 HP breaks Stonebound; Active Hearts deal 20% less damage while unbound.
Activation
Automatic while equipped. It consumes a normal Heart slot and cannot be triggered with that slot's input.
Base values
Stand still for 3 seconds to gain +24 Armor and Magic Resistance, pause Sustained Heart duration timers, and grant Area Hearts +30% Area. Active Hearts deal 20% less damage while unbound.
Reset rule
Any movement or direct hit dealing more than 5 HP resets the buildup.

Compatible modifiers

Passive Hearts roll only Passive Potency and Attunement Speed. Both use harmful T1–T3 values and beneficial T4–T10 values; the Heart's elemental identity is an affinity rather than a damage source.

Passive modifier rules

Passive Potency
Multiplies Gentle Spring, Stonebound, and Windborne benefits, plus Empty Throne's damage reward. It does not reduce fixed drawbacks or Empty Throne's Mana surcharge.
Attunement Speed
Accelerates buildup toward the full effect. Gentle Spring and Empty Throne are always active and do not roll Attunement Speed.
Affinity
Earth, Fire, Ice, Lightning, and Force remain as forge and visual identities, but Passive Hearts deal no damage and cannot inflict ailments.
